[Air-L] Blogs, listservs and ethics.

Hey all,I am having a bit of a debate about the use of blogs and listserv's in academic work. If one is using a listserv as a information source the current ethical guidelines say to cite it as an electronic resource. However, if a researcher is studying a blog/listserv as a research site, ie online ethnographic participate observation, does the same policy apply or rather do issues of informed consent pop up? What do you all think? Any thoughts or recommendations for readings would be most helpful!
