Dear AoIR colleagues:
on behalf of the members of the German Society for Online Research
(DGOF) we would like to send our warm greetings and best wishes for
your conference with its excellent program. Both our associations are
devoted to using the Internet as an object or a tool for research,
and doing so by connecting internationally.

We have been in contact with your president, Steve Jones (hi Steve
;-), and some of your board members to discuss ways of cooperation
between AoIR and DGOF. As a first step we are happy to report that
the fifth German Online Research conference (GOR) in 2002 will be
held just two days before the next AoIR meeting at the University of
Hohenheim in Southwest Germany. Part of the conference will be held
in the local castle. The timing will allow members of both
communities to attend both conferences on one trip.

DGOF is devoted to the promotion of Online Research and Internet
Science in connecting the academic and the business world. It's GOR
conferences feature dozens of presentations (2001: 86, including 29
international ones) in English and German and are attended by about
50% visitors from academia and 50% from the business world. There
were 320 participants from nine different countries in 2001. For 2002
we expect a further increase in participation. Please refer to our
Website at http://www.dgof.de/indexe.htm for more information
about DGOF and GOR.

We are looking forward to meeting you and cooperating with you.
Best wishes,
the DGOF board: Olaf Hofmann (president), Wolfgang Bandilla (vice
president), Lorenz Graef (treasurer), Ulf-Dietrich Reips (vice
president, international affairs)
