The American Sociological Association has recently launched Contexts, a new
magazine under the leadership of Claude S. Fischer, Professor of Sociology
at University of California at Berkeley.

The magazine is soliciting contributions for articles. Though Contexts is
peer-reviewed, it operates like a magazine. Rather than reviewing
full-length academic articles, the magazine solicits short proposals for
review before asking authors to write full-length pieces.

As a graduate student editor, I am trying to encourage the inclusion of
technology-related topics (studied from a sociological perspective) in the
magazine. If you are interested in contributing a piece to the magazine,
please take a look at the guidelines for submission
(http://www.contextsmagazine.org/authors_subinfo.html). You can also contact
me with any questions.

What is Contexts?
-----------------
Contexts brings to a wide audience sociological ideas and research in an
accessible and engaging way and offers fresh perspectives, clear, concise
thinking and jargon-free reporting. Contexts also presents original,
provocative photographs and illustrations that enhance understanding of
social life. And Contexts helps general readers better understand important
social issues that affect us all, addressing both critical public concerns
and the often perplexing behavior of human beings.
