Colleagues:
I take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers, who will help
prepare a quality program for our October conference. Below you will
find the aggregated list (which may still be supplemented) as well as
the list of instructions for reviewers. In some cases, I have taken
the liberty of suggesting a coordinator; feel free to contact me off
list in this regard.
Reviewers will receive more information regarding the conference
system managed by Jeremy Hunsinger in the near future. In order to
keep the mail volume down, communication between reviewers,
coordinators, and myself as program chair will next migrate to a
separate list. However, I welcome your suggestions and comments
regarding the conference program also in the months ahead.
Klaus.

GUIDELINES FOR REVIEW OF SUBMISSIONS TO AoIR 3.0
- Above all else, AoIR seeks to promote the highest standards in
research about the Internet and its social implications.
- An important quality of Internet studies tends to be the inclusion
of interdisciplinary dimensions, in addition to disciplinary
perspectives from across the social, human, and natural sciences.
- It is also taken for granted that AoIR seeks diversity in terms of
gender, ethnicity, and national or regional origin of presenters as
well as topics.
- A minimum of two researchers review each submission via the
designated submission system, and seek consensus. In case of initial
differing assessments, the reviewers are encouraged to consult each
other, before passing on their review to the topic coordinator and
the program committee.
- Once the review process has been completed, the program committee
and program chair consult the topic coordinators and, as necessary,
individual reviewers, so as to ensure transparency through the next
stages of the planning process.
