Mobile Entertainment Industry and Culture

Applications are invited for a European Commission funded post to join the
internationally recognised ESRC Centre for Research on Innovation and
Competition, (CRIC), at the University of Manchester/UMIST.

Applicants should have substantial research experience in a relevant social
science discipline, a PhD (or equivalent), demonstrated capacity for
conducting text-and interview-based research and the ability to interpret
qualitative data. Applicants must be able to contribute to the authorship of
publishable outputs of research, be computer literate, and possess strong
organisational skills. A willingness to travel is also required. The post is
tenable for 19 months commencing September 1st 2002 (or as soon as possible
thereafter) and will involve interviewing mobile gamers, co-ordination of
dissemination and participation in organising user workshops and conference.
(REF 628/02) Salary: £17,626 - £21,503 (pay award pending) according to
relevant experience and qualifications.
