Laura J. Gurak is director of the Internet Studies Center and associate
professor of rhetoric at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is
the author of Cyberliteracy: Navigating the Internet with Awareness (Yale
University Press). In it, she discusses a number of issues, including the
erosion of privacy and what state and federal governments should be doing
to protect personal information in the digital age.
