Science News May 4 has a good summary story about published research to
date about whether the Internet builds/diminishes community.

The story will get updated next Fall, when Wellman & Haythornthwaite's
edited (20 original articles) _The Internet in Everyday Life_ gets
published by Blackwells.

We'd hope to present to give AOIR conference attendees a preview of our
key NetLab findings at Maastricht but the refereeing gods decreed
otherwise. Yup, Banned at Maastricht! (we may put that on the cover) --
and without an explanation.

However, you can now get an advance peek at the drafts of these chapters
on my website.
