A new online directory will be launched by the end of July to assist
refugee
journalists in the U.K looking for a job, reports dotJournalism. The RAM
(Refugees, Asylum-seekers and the Media) project's online directory of
professional journalists will display a picture, skills, experience and
a short
bio-data for each listed journalist. Nick Medic, communications officer
of the
RAM Project, claims the network currently has at least 40 journalists
in the
directory as well as another 80 affiliated with the project. The
broader aim of
the organization is to increase representation of refugees in the media
and
ensure a more balanced reporting on asylum issues.
