Dear AoIR members and air-l list participants,
We are currently entering the discussion period for the AoIR
elections. It will proceed until July 11, 2003. A reminder of the
elections timeline:
1. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: Elapsed
2. END OF NOMINATION PERIOD: Elapsed
3. DISCUSSION PERIOD BEGINS: <---------------NOW
4. DISCUSSION PERIOD ENDS: July 11, 2003
3. VOTING PERIOD BEGINS: July 14, 2003
4. VOTING PERIOD ENDS: July 28, 2003
5. NEW COMMITTEE ASSUMES DUTIES: At the end of the General Meeting at
the fourth annual AoIR conference, October 16 - 19, 2003.
This year we are trying a web forum for the discussion period before
elections. You will find it at http://aoir.org/forum.
To use this forum, please go the above url and read the nominee
information (some nominee information is still forthcoming) and ask
questions and discuss AoIR, the election positions, and what you
would like for AoIR to become or how you might like it to change. In
short, nearly any topic related to AoIR is open to discussion in the
forum. However, we ask that you maintain a general decorum
appropriate for such discussions. (Moderation or other tools may be
used to maintain this.) You do not have to create an account, and
log in to post, but if you do log in, you can then edit and delete
your posts. Limited anonymity is allowed by the system but postings
which identify the poster as another known party will be deleted by
request or at the discretion of the moderators. The moderators for
this discussion are the President, the Vice-President and the two
Publication Officers of AoIR, none of which are running for >>>
election.
Again, the url for the discussion period is: http://aoir.org/forum.
Many thanks to Jeremy Hunsinger for the technical work of setting up
the forum and to the members of the AoIR Executive Committee for
their input and feedback during its testing.
Thank you,
Steve Jones
