Hello colleagues,

I'm rounding up some smart contributors for a special issue of Library
Trends that focuses on Internet commercialism, information retrieval,
and the political economy of the Web. It'll be called "The
Commercialized Web: Challenges for Libraries and Democracy." If you'd
like more information, visit the issue description at
www.uni.edu/~fabos/library.html, or contact me at fabos at uni.edu. If you
know of anyone who does this kind of work, please direct them to this
web site. I'm especially looking for people who can write about the
government-supported subject gateway initiatives in Canada and
throughout Europe. Library Trends is one of the most respected library
journals and enjoys a wide circulation. This promises to be an exciting
issue. Thanks for your input.

With kind regards,

Bettina Fabos
