plos and plob probably aren't 'open' access, as they are not open at
all really. however, there is a significant amount of press and
coverage on this. you can find things on open access journals quite
easily either on my blog or on fos or many other places. it isn't the
provision of things at no cost, it the provision of things that we have
already as an international community significantly invested in, and it
isn't open source, as much as open outcomes, because the source is set
of human minds, and while they are open to interpretation, they are not
open in the same way as code. .... if you want more info feel free to
