[Air-l] Origin?> ICTs

I pulled out my handy copy of the Steve Jones (ed.) "Encyclopedia of New Media."
 There are several entries on ICT's for the history section they point to Innis
and McLuhann but don't cite an actual "first use" of the term.  I have never
seen a list of defining characteristics for ICT's...in fact the term is not
universally used.

Hope that is some minor help.
