Will you also be taking into consideration what impact the influx of portable 
hand-held devices, such as PDAs and cellphones with Internet capabilities, 
might have on current understandings of the digital divide? The existing 
research tends to focus on what might be called proven technologies whereas mobile 
devices are emerging technologies. It is possible to speculate what impact these 
emerging technologies will have on current understandings by looking at 
recent studies from around the world that are reporting who is buying what device 
and how they are using them.
