[Air-l] Andrea Baker's new book

Just to let everyone know, the lovely Andrea Baker has just had her book
published, titled: Double Click: Romance and Commitment Among Online Couples
with Hampton Press

To quote:

"It's the first scholarly book using primary data written exclusively 
about close online relationships, drawing from the fields of 
sociology, psychology, and communications.  Research for the book is 
based upon the 89 couples who filled out email questionnaires, with 
some providing email correspondence and follow-up interviews.  The 
couples, ages 18-67, came mainly from the US, with representation 
from Canada, Europe, and Australia.   A qualitative study, the book 
contains many quotes from couples who present their own experiences. 
Couples met at dating sites, in online discussion groups, and during 
chats and games.  It follows the process of initial attraction 
through communicating through text, through meeting at the first f2f 
encounter.  The book analyzes the issues of honesty and deception and 
factors of success and failure among the couples."
