Nvivo7 is a very large program. Uninstalled it sits at 146 Megs
compressed; installed its core program is 58 Meg (Nvivo 2 is 16 Meg and
Nud*ist 6 is 10 Megs). Installation of Nvivo7 takes about 15 minutes
or more, depending on your microprocessor, memory, etc, and requires
the installation of Microsoft SQL Express 2005, Crystal Reports 2005
for .NET framework 2.0 (x86). Installation requires Microsoft access.
Be prepared for changes in your computer's system files. Nvivo7
represents a merger of Nud*ist 6 and Nvivo 2, and has some nice added
features, like an undo feature. These programs always had a
statistical interface, such as with SPSS or Excel. But Nvivo 7
definitely runs slower, and some folks may wish to retain their
licenses for Nvivo 2 and Nud*ist 6. Without a question, N6 is the most
efficient and fastest of these three programs, and if you like its
power (such as its command assistant), and don't mind an ascii text
enviroment, N6 is still a very good program. Different strokes for
different folks.

Cheers
