Hi Everyone,

As job season approaches, it's time for me to make an annual announcement:

Since 1999, I have been maintaining a collection of web pages that provides
links to useful resources for people on the academic job market and junior
scholars.  It is mainly geared toward critical communication studies but
some resources will be more broadly useful to people who work in other
fields.  You can find it at:

There are many new updates this year, including tips for academic couples
hitting the market and for grad students about to make the transition to
assistant professor.

I am always looking for good suggestions for material to add to the site,
and as you'll see, I have used it to archive some material that has been
circulated in other fora.  If you have a suggestion for a link or a document
worth archiving, please email me at jonathan.sterne at mcgill.ca.  Please note
that I do not post or keep track of job ads, nor am I an expert on online
resources for job hunters.  I intend to continue building the site, so
suggestions for other areas to cover would be appreciated.  There are also
probably typos and other small errors on the new pages that need correction.

Additionally, I would be very grateful for suggestions about adding more
Canadian content to the site, as it began in the U.S. and I want to serve
Canadian students as well.
