Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.

The conference brings together researchers concerned with the creation and
use of digital information and asks them to focus on these key questions:

* How is the emerging digital economy changing writing practices and the
nature of knowledge work -- or how will it?
* How is writing a form of knowledge work? (Is it?)
* What issues, problems, questions face researchers studying the effects of
the digital economy on writing practices?

Presenters will focus on how writing relates to the knowledge economy and
knowledge work, issues of culture and identity, and related public policy
challenges.

The conference begins on Thursday evening, April 6th, with a keynote
presentation by Barbara Mirel, followed by three plenary sessions on Friday,
April 7th. Plenty of time for questions, conversation, and interaction is
built into the schedule. The cost for conference registration is $150.
