Mission of the Society of Internet Research:

* To promote understanding of the nature and threat of Islamic 
extremist movements, with particular emphasis on the use such movements 
make of the internet.

* To develop and document tools and techniques that facilitate 
legitimate research and investigations of the internet-based activities 
of the global jihad, and to facilitate and conduct such research and 
investigations.

* To encourage public, industry and goverment involvement in a 
collective effort to combat the use of the internet by such extremist 
movements and the spread of the ideology of jihad via the internet.
