Check the Pew Internet site. You can get a number of interesting links by
just using "teens" as a search term. Amanda Lenhart did most of the work on
two major studies.

Specific studies include:

Teens and Technology: Youth are Leading the Transition to a Fully Wired and

Teenage Life Online: The rise of the instant-message generation and the
Internet's impact on friendships and family relationships; June 2001
