Hello Jay--

You and Rhonda might also be interested in reading:

Suoranta, J. and Lehtimaki, H. (2004). Children In the
Information Society: The Case of Finland. New York:
Peter Lang.

The authors report on a federal government-funded
large-scale survey of children and families with
respect to their ICT and other media uses.

I'm not sure where you're going in Finalnd, but
Tampere is home to some really interesting research
and community-based internet projects. If you are in
the area, good touchstone people to meet up with are:
Juha Suoranata
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juha_Suoranta) and Tere
Vaden (tere.vaden at uta.fi) at the University of
Tampere, and Elina Harju (an independent consultant
who coordinates on Tampere's wireless city
initiatives;
http://www.splq.info/issues/vol37_3/09.htm).

Cheers,

Michele
