Let me second Nancy's comments below ... while also noting (since she's 
too modest to do so) that she hosted the very first AoIR conference, and 
I'd suggest that any list of the association's major early organizers 
has to include her name as well.

As long as I'm writing, though, I've got a quick question about Steve's 
mini-history:  Was that first "let's do this" meeting at NCA or ICA?  
I've got a ragged brown T-shirt suggesting that this was ICA in May 1999 
in San Francisco ... but maybe that was the second "let's do this" meeting?
