A recent memo in LSE about turnitin stated
2.2 JISC <Joint Information Systems Committee> is a national body
responsible, among other things, for administering the UK HE <Higher
Education> sector¹s use of the TurnItin plagiarism detection software,
licensed from a US company, IParadigms. The School pays an annual
subscription fee for its use of TurnItin based on fte <Full time Equivalent>
student numbers: this was £4,690 for the 2006/07 session.
LSE has about 8000 students (not sure what the full time equivalent is)
