Laurie,
I'm not familiar with any literature and am looking forward to others
posting some good refs but you might expand your search to include "trolls."

Subject: [Air-L] Literature on Seeding Online Communities

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with any academic literature that
discusses seeding forums within online communities? By seeding, I mean
posting messages from community moderators to get conversations going within
online communities. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
