there's been a community wireless network movement going on for several years, if you're interested in Fon it might be worth checking some of the other groups that have been exploring community wide deployments of wifi. Hello everyone,

I thought you might be interested in this public and international  
effort to democratize wi-fi. I wonder how long it will take the  
telecoms to file suit. Be sure to check out the access point map.  
(The map works in Firefox but not in Safari and I can't vouch for IE).

Are there any other organizations that are this bold?
