An afternoon seminar examining women’s production and consumption of porn in film and on the net.

Feona Attwood
Feona Attwood teaches Media and Communication Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. She has published widely on sex and the media. Her research interests include new pornographies, cybersex, women and sexualization and the study of sexual media in education. She is currently working on online pornography and women’s use of online sex sites.

Katrien Jacobs
Katrien Jacobs is assistant professor at City University of Hong Kong. She has published widely on Internet pornography, sexuality, art and censorship. Since 2005 she has organized the netporn conferences at the Institute of Network Cultures, Amsterdam. She is author of the forthcoming Netporn: DIY
Web Culture and Sexual Politics, Rowman & Littlejohn.

Clarissa Smith
Clarissa Smith teaches Media & Cultural Studies at the University of Sunderland. Her research interests are the production and consumption of pornography, sex retailing, audiences and popular cultures. Her published work includes studies of softcore pornography, readers of For Women magazine, and the erotic performers, The Chippendales. Her book, One for the Girls! The Practices and Pleasures of Women’s Porn is published by
Intellect Books.

Anna Span
Anna Span graduated from Central Saint Martins and was the first female director of hardcore pornography in the UK with titles ‘Uniform Behavior’, Hoxton Honey and ‘Anna’s Mates’. Since 1998 she has run her own production company, Easy on the Eye productions. Arena magazine named her ‘Britain’s hottest porn director’ and she is currently working on her first feature film for mainstream release.
