Dear colleagues,

I'd like to extend this invitation to an upcoming event to be held in April
2008, at The University of Texas at Austin. This is a good opportunity to
present your new media/online journalism research. The symposium combines
presentation by online journalism professionals with academic research
presentations.

For the fifth year, the International Symposium on Online Journalism will
include presentations of original research into online journalism. All
presentations will take place on the second day of the conference. The first

day is devoted to presentations and panels of online journalism
professionals. Prior symposia have included professionals from around the
world from news organizations such as the NYTimes.com, OhMyNews, ep3.es

(El Pais' multimedia magazine in Spain), MSNBC.com, The Wall Street Journal,

The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, WashingtonPost.com,ElTiempo.com
(Colombia),

  ElComercio.com.pe <http://elcomercio.com.pe/> <
http://www.elcomercio.com.pe/online/> (Peru), and several others.

Deadlines for papers or three-page abstracts: January 25, 2008.

Symposium dates are April 4-5, 2008

Submission requirements: Academic papers should present original research
into any aspect on online journalism including, but not limited to, changes
in news content and presentation, business models for online journalism,
shifting roles of journalists and readers, and the legal and ethical
implications of globally accessible journalism.
