The Canadian Study of Parliament Group annual conference will examine 
the impact of information and communications technologies (ICTs) on 
parliaments and their relationship to citizens. This conference will 
look at how legislators and their constituents use ICTs to communicate 
with each other, through e-mail, websites, blogs and other methods.  It 
will also look more broadly at how legislatures are using technology in 
new and innovative ways for committee consultations, enhanced website 
features, and other attempts to utilize technology to connect and engage 
citizens in new ways.

Sessions will include:
.    Current Uses of ICTs by Legislators
.    Innovations and Challenges of ICTs in Legislative Politics
.    Democratic Engagement

Panelists include Members of Parliament, federal and provincial public 
servants and academics from across Canada. Darin Barney, Canada Research 
Chair in Technology and Citizenship, McGill University, will give the 
keynote address.
