One Year Temporary Fixed-Term appointment in the first instance, with
opportunity for possible extension.

The University of Bolton seeks to appoint a creative, motivated and
highly capable individual to the position of Research Officer in
Enterprise Technology within the Institute of Educational Cybernetics.
The post-holder will have evidence of a strong background in enterprise
technology, an interest in the broad range of technical, organisational
and other issues around technology in organisations, with the ability to
work in a highly dynamic environment.

The post-holder will play a key role within the JISC Centre for
Educational Technology and Interoperability Standards, an
internationally recognised service focussed on the adoption of
innovative technologies in the education sector. This service includes
an activity concerned with identifying key technology interventions to
improve organisational viability and effectiveness by engaging with
sector professionals, with emerging technologies and with standards
initiatives at national, European and global levels.

The post-holder will demonstrate a capability and willingness to develop
expertise in a broad range of technologies that can be applied in an
enterprise setting, be willing to engage in a community of practice of
professionals from across the sector and to contribute to the research
and development agenda.

The post-holder will also play a role in the development of new research
and development activities, and will work with the Institute?s
management team in the design, development and delivery of proposals for
future research. They will need to have a wide range of technology
interests, be aware of developing trends in the field and be able to use
this knowledge to develop new ideas for research, or to incorporate it
into existing projects. They will have an active role to play in
acquiring and creatively applying expertise in emerging technologies,
tools and frameworks.

A postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant technology or
business discipline will be a major advantage.

Salary in the range of £20,721 - £31,299 per annum.
