areas of Security and Risk Analysis (SRA). Highly qualified candidates
at assistant professor rank will be considered for a PNC Career
Development Professorship. Candidates are especially encouraged to apply

of SRA.

The SRA recruiting emphasis is risk analysis using a variety of
qualitative and quantitative methods, with special emphasis on
systems-based approaches. A principal requirement is demonstrated
excellence in research and potential for excellence in instruction.
Successful applicants will be expected to establish a quality research
program and teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in SRA and
IST. Teaching areas include security and risk modeling, analysis, and
management; integration of cyber-security and privacy rights; and the
SRA aspects of IT auditing and governance.

Penn State is a major research university and is ranked second in the
nation in industry-sponsored research among universities. IST is ranked
fifth in the Chronicle of Higher Education's Faculty Scholarly
Productivity Index. Our active research grants are now approximately
$8.0 million and growing each year. We have a world-class funded
security research group, a successful NSA-sponsored Center for Academic
Excellence in Information Assurance Education, and a new

Security and Risk Analysis is a new and growing undergraduate major with
three options: (1) information & cyber security, (2) intelligence
analysis & modeling, and (3) social issues & risk. Overall, our
baccalaureate programs have nearly 1000 students and our PhD program has
almost 100 students. IST is positioned to be a world leader in Security
and Risk Analysis scholarship. To learn more about SRA and IST, please
