It is unfortunate, but there's a simple explanation.  When they dreamed
it up last year, Susan Crawford et al. chose the "same date every year"
model rather than the "4th Friday in September" (as it was in 2006) or
some other model.  I don't think they need to atone for that!

It's unfortunate that OneWebDay comes on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of
the Jewish religion -- when we do without.

Whoever creating the scheduling mismatch has something to atone for.

Fortunately, they can do it this Saturday.
