Below is information on new MA degree in Internet and CommunicationStudies and an invitation to the Internet Studies Festival, which willtake place on 18 July 2008 in Liverpool, UK. 1. **MA in Internet and Communication Studies, Liverpool John MooresUniversity**
The MA in Internet and Communication Studies examines the relationshipsbetween new technologies, cultural changes, identities and mediainstitutions. Our seminars, workshops and research events introduce thestudents to contemporary theoretical debates surrounding developmentwithin the field, including topics such as gendered, racial and sexualidentities; virtual diasporas and cybernationalism; on-line communitiesand politics; globalisation and the digital divide; blogging andnet-art; privacy and surveillance; cybercrime and cyberconflict;on-line gaming and social networking.We offer our students a variety oflearning experiences, designed to create a critical awareness of newmedia and Internet studies. Students will consolidate theirunderstanding of the complex and pervasive cultures of the productionand consumption of new media texts.

Come and get a chance to meet ourstaff and students and learn about our degree and about Internetresearch at John Moores University!
