The Department of Communication at Miami University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor (one year contract with possibility of annual renewal up to five years based on funding and satisfactory performance) to teach undergraduate courses focusing on the theory, practice, and production of digital media. The successful candidate should have expertise in both the theory and practice of  new media and must have significant digital communication production skills. This digital communication expertise could include, but is not limited to web content and applications, digital video and audio, animation, and virtual environments. Competencies in the areas of image acquisition, studio and field production, non-linear editing, motion graphics, and web-based and other new media applications desired. The ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment required. Duties may include teaching multi-camera studio or field production courses and the design and development of digital communication. Previous teaching experience highly desired. Require: Masters degree with experience in media and new media. Desire: MFA or PhD in media related field.
