This 3-day conference, taking place October 1, 2 and 3, 2008 will focus
on the transformation of Ontario's economic, social and environmental
future through the adoption and use of broadband technology, and
innovative applications and products.
 
Specific sessions which may be of interest to students include:

*	
	Leigh Rowan will be presenting the Digital Ontario Second Life
island, a collaborative inter-ministerial project headed by the Digital
Strategy Unit, Ministry of Government Services.  The island is partly
dedicated to showcasing existing broadband related projects in Ontario,
both government and community based.  We are currently working with the
Ministry of Education in an attempt to showcase Ontario's eLearning
Strategy.
*	The Cisco NOW van is a 25-foot mobile demonstration van equipped
with the latest Cisco networking technologies.  These vans contain the
equipment and facilities to conduct onsite technical demos of key
networking solutions for the commercial market.  The Now van provides an
opportunity for conference attendees to experience exciting interactive
technology demonstrations designed to create a competitive advantage,
maximize productive and ROI, and reduce operation costs. 
*	Jean Bridge from the Univserity of Brock will be presenting
jointly with Jeff Chesebrough from nGen, a Niagara region hub for
interactive media projects and business development, on fostering new
enterprise to retain talent in the Niagara region especially from recent
university graduates.  
*	 Dr. Rachel Ellaway from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine
will be presenting on their school's use of innovative technologies and
applications.

* Dr. Ed Brown (CEO, Ontario Telehealth Network)

Students must book accomodation at Deerhurst Resort to qualify for the
student rate.  Special conference room rates are available at $159 per
night.
