[Air-L] pay phones

The story says it all.  This is an example what happens when public service regulation is abandoned and replaced by "market forces."  To my mind, even the  ridiculousness of the high cost is overshadowed by the total lack of working payphones almost everywhere in North America.  If people do not have a cell, do not have their cell with them, or their cell battery is dead, then they'd better not need to contact anyone, or they'd better be ready to ask to borrow a stranger's phone.  Perhaps you can ask that creepy guy lurking in the parking lot that made you want to call someone in the first place!
