Everyone -

Erika Pearson and I are organizing a panel for the conference this October and looking for papers that would work together under our theme. The preliminary summary is below.

Please email your paper proposals/abstracts to me at stuszynski at bethanywv.edu and to Erika at erika.pearson at otago.ac.nz if you'd like to be considered.

This panel seeks to explore the ways relationships are constructed (and misconstructed online). From questions of "What is a friend?" to the weak ties of Twitter followers, this panel looks at both critical theorizing and user experience of online socialization. Together, these papers consider ways to redefine the complex bonds that are currently lumped together under the broad and overused label 'friend.'"
