[Air-L] what sources do you use for a "history of the Internet"

Hi Sam,

There is an early but important book that demonstrates the essentially
scientific and democratic origin of the Internet. It is "Netizens: On
the History and Impact of Usenet and the Internet" IEEE Computer
Society Press, Los Alamitos Calif 1997 by Michael Hauben and Ronda
Hauben.

It can be seen online at:

http://www.columbia.edu/~rh120

The strength of this history is the serious research the authors did
to trace the early vision and its roots. See especially "Part II The
Past: Where has it all Come From."

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Jay
