Fulltime-Nontenure Track- One-Year Appointment

Bethany College seeks an experienced teacher/scholar/practitioner to join its Communication Department.

Bethany College is a national liberal arts college located on a beautiful historic 1,300 acre mountaintop campus in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, 39 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The state's oldest private college, Bethany offers a wide array of B.A. and B.S. programs in more than 30 fields of study. Teaching excellence and close student/faculty relationships are hallmarks of the Bethany Experience.

Instructor/Assistant Professor of Communication (Nontenure Track)--The Communication Department seeks a generalist with professional media experience in journalism, public relations, and/or new (converged) media (including areas such as Web or graphic design). The doctorate degree in the discipline is preferred, a master's degree is required.

Bethany College is committed to undergraduate education, thus additional responsibilities include supervising senior projects, and possible campus media or club advising, and participation in the life of the College. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent teaching and advising skills, and possess a positive and professional attitude.
