[Air-L] Academic Job Listings in Digital Media

Hi Kevin

I wouldn't place my bets too much on the US since there are very few positions in the area of new/digital media especially since the recession has hit the US academic institutions pretty hard. My best bet would be the UK which always has media positions advertised. I just left my job in digital media at Kingston U...so they may be looking for someone in the near future. The site I used to use when living in the UK was jobs.ac.uk. It would be an asset to have both practical and theoretical knowledge since going into Digital Media for obvious reasons. Just having theory will be a bit of struggle because the discipline has changed in the past 10 years with graduates doing both practice and theory in this particular area. I remember hearing that Salford U is opening up many many positions in media so that might be worth looking at...if you are lucky U of Westminster is a great place to work at in terms of new media.

Personally I have decided to take a sabbatical from academia and research a completely new topic (food and culture) and raise my son!
best
Niran

I'm in my final year of PhD work and am looking to apply for academic jobs (both assistant professor/lecturer type positions or post-docs) in Communications, New/Digital Media and other related fields. I know the Chronicle is one place to look for these types of jobs, but are there others? I'm particularly interested in jobs in the US but not exclusively so...
