If people are interested in thinking about the use of so-called Web 2.0 / read/write web / social media approaches, I have some papers and presentations on my site http://netcrit.net/writing. There's also some video of me presenting an array of Web 2.0 tools which get around some of the artificiality of learning management systems (and which are particularly suited to people teaching subject matter in media and communications, but not limited to that) on the UNSW website - www.unsw.tv and search for me.

Subject: [Air-L] Best practices for e-learning

Hi all:

For the first time ever, I'll will be teaching an online class. It's an undergraduate communication theory class, and it will be offered next semester. There is a huge amount of stuff that I need to learn, but mostly what I know at this point is that there are lots of bad online classes. So I'm wondering what practices make for a good online class? If there are any resources to which someone could point me, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!
Holly
