The Association of Information Systems (AIS) has just created a special interest group (SIG) with the theme of Green IS http://greensig.atspace.org/

The goal of Green IS research is to find ways to leverage information technology in support of sustainability initiatives for organizations, communities, and individuals.

The development of technology to encourage "green" behavior relates to socio-technical systems research, and thus connects to the interests of many members of AoIR. If you are interested in working on Green IS projects, or working to create an interdisciplinary academic organization to support Green IS initiatives, please contact me via email at cdwyer at pace.edu.
Thank you,
