[Air-L] Early Planning Underway for JITP 2011 - "The Future of Computational Social Science" - PC Member and Keynote Nominations Being Accepted

JITP 2011 Conference Co-Chair John Wilkerson (University of Washington,
Department of Political Science) and I are pleased to announce that early
planning is underway for JITP 2011, tentatively titled:

"JITP 2011: The Future of Computational Social Science," to be held on the
campus of the University of Washington in May 2011.

Building on recent workshops, we want to unite and foster social and
computational scientists in functional collaborations that enrich the work
of scholars in both fields. This is not easy, but we are making progress one
algorithm and special issue at a time. This has been one part of the core
mission of JITP since its founding. We still face substantial hurdles
getting the reward structures of academe to validate these efforts. The
conference theme is forward-looking and we hope it contributes to more
dialog about the role of new, integrative digital methods in older, more
established disciplines.

If you would like to nominate anyone (including yourself) to join the JITP
2010 Program Committee, please send an email to JITP Managing Editor

your interest. We are also accepting nominations for keynote
