[Air-L] Citing inactive websites

Just as an alternative; Evernote also has 'page clipping' functionality as a browser add-on, and I use that vs Zotero (because I started using Chrome before Zotero added support, and I find Evernote data easier to index/refer to). Evernote does require a monthly fee if your data storage goes above a certain level.

Definitely a problem Debbie. I'm writing up my PhD referring to web crawl data and web site content analysis from 2009. I'm using the Internet Archive's Wayback machine whilst referring back to my notes. I have some screen snapshots of sites at the time but not a complete set. The Archive's preserved copy of the site often doesn't capture all of the elements of the site however making the process problematic at times. I wasn't aware of Zotero's functionality for taking a page snapshot, so that's helpful (thanks William). If a site is no longer available I'm citing it with the date accessed and a comment like "now defunct".
