Janna,

I am not a sociologist, as Kate is, but I am doing Internet research, and am
myself a novice (first year of PhD). I think some good starting points would
be:

The challenge of changing audiences : or, what is the audience researcher to
do in the age of the internet? Livingstone, Sonia (2004) ** *European
journal of communication*, 19 (1). pp. 75-86. ISSN 1460-3705

methods for examining the Net By Steve Jones http://goo.gl/QW1Uf (Google
Books)
Virtual methods: issues in social research on the Internet By Christine Hine
http://goo.gl/ykyUf (Google Books) Internet research methods: a practical
guide for the social and behavioural sciences By Claire Hewson
http://goo.gl/iARvM (Google Books)Kate is also welcome to contact me offlist
and visit our Journalism School resource center (yes, I am also in Ukraine)
to see if she can find any print books/periodicals she might find useful.

Cheers,
