Hi All:
I am planning a social media syllabus for next year. I'd like to be able to
draw on a few key themes that touch on the manifold ways that people are
using social media in their lives, from everything for participatory content
creation to uprisings. I'd also like to look at the critical/cultural side
of social media, the history and origins, the political/economy side, the
role of ICTs in social media's development, and - how best we call it -
media effects of social media. If people have good readings to recommend for
undergraduates (or that can be scaled up to masters' students), I'd really
appreciate it. Better yet, if you're teaching a course on the subject
yourself, I'd love to touch base.
Thank you!
