Dr. Christopher Donoghue, PJ Rey and Nathan Jurgenson are proud to
announce a new Call for Papers on the topic of Social Media to be
presented at the Annual Meeting of the Eastern Sociological Society,
February 23-26, 2012 in New York City.

Submissions may include papers on, but not limited to, social media as
applied to the intersection of the physical and digital, bodies and
technology, self-presentation and identity, sex and bodies, political
mobilization and uprisings, anonymity and surveillance, electoral
politics, publishing, etc. Submissions may also address
considerations of power and inequalities at the intersection of race,
class, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, etc.

Depending upon the number of quality submissions, we will be proposing
one or more thematic sessions, or a mini-conference. If interested,
send a paper title and a 200-250 word abstract. Submissions longer
than 250 words will not be considered. Note that papers will be be
competitively selected. If not accepted, authors may still submit via
the general ESS submission process.
