[Air-L] Why do people apologize for cross-posting?

Going one step further, one would also apologize for cross-replying.
Of course,  cross-replying can only be done if the original poster 
not just apologizes for cross-posting, but also tells everyone where 
the f%&"%$% s/he did so.
