Hi Doga,

I would try searching the social and cultural geographic literature on health and disability, as well as sociology as you will probably find some references. Human geographers are particularly interested in the spaces and/or settings where people experience and/or interact with others in society. i.e. health in an online setting or the relationships of power between 'patients' and practitioners

You could try these to start (some are geographical others have been used as part of a geography and health reading group:

Joëlle Kivits (2004): Researching the 'Informed Patient, Information, Communication & Society, 7:4,
510-530 http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/1369118042000305629

Broom, A. (2005) Medical specialists’ accounts of the impact of the Internet on the doctor/patient relationship 'Health' http://hea.sagepub.com/content/9/3/319

Valorie A. Crooks, Vera Chouinard (2006) An embodied geography of disablement: Chronically ill
women’s struggles for enabling places in spaces of health care
and daily life, 'Health and Place'

Crooks, V. (2006) “I Go On The Internet; I Always, You Know, Check To See What’s New”:Chronically Ill Women’s Use of Online HealthInformation to Shape and InformDoctor-Patient Interactions in the Space of Care Provision, ACME.

Good luck!

I remember Jennifer Malkowski from Colorado-Boulder was doing a presentation during NCA 2012 on "Improvising the Future of Medicine: Improving Health Care through Communication Theory." Beyond that, I really haven't seen or read anything on the subject.
