One-year Visiting Professorship

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a one-year visiting professorship in the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. (Search Number 13100)

PROFILE of the UNIVERSITY

UNLV is a comprehensive research university of approximately 27,000 students and 2,800 faculty and staff dedicated to teaching, research, and service. ROLE of the POSITION

The successful candidate will be a distinguished scholar or notable professional with extensive experience and will engage in research or creative activity partnering with school faculty and the larger UNLV campus. The School is part of the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs and is committed to working with important topics having national and global import such as the economy, environment, and social issues. The School offers an undergraduate degree with emphases in journalism and media studies, and a Master’s degree in media studies. International applicants are encouraged, consistent with the School’s commitment to cultural diversity. A candidate’s expertise may include but isn’t restricted to journalism, global media, media writing, media law and ethics, emerging/new media, integrative marketing communications, or multi- platform news production. The visiting professor will teach courses in their areas of expertise, develop seminars, work with students and the university community, and give presentations over the academic year. The Greenspun School is an innovative and progressive unit located in the new Greenspun Hall, a facility with state-of-the-art classrooms, editing labs, studios, and emerging-technologies laboratory. QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Master’s degree or Doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university and extensive experience.

SALARY RANGE

Salary is competitive and contingent on funding.
