Salary range: From £54,283 per annum (Professorial Scale)

The School of Media, Film and Music at the University of Sussex is seeking a Professor in the area of media and communications, with a focus on global media, media transformations (historical and contemporary), political economy, news and publics, or the sociology of the media.
Media and Film at Sussex has an increasingly high reputation nationally and internationally. We are fifth in key league tables, have a strong team of internationally recognized researchers, and are extending and building new programmes.
The person appointed will be internationally recognized for their research, able to obtain and lead funded research projects, to assist colleagues in developing their research activities, and to contribute to developing new programmes. They will also be willing to teach and inspire students at all levels and to take a full part in the School.
