Dear All,
This is a reminder of the deadline for the ECPR panel The Social Mediation of Popular Protest. Facebook and Twitter in Pro-Democracy and Anti-Austerity Mobilisations.
Abstracts are due on February 1st 2013. The ECPR General Conference will take place in Bordeaux, France, 4 - 7 September 2013 .
The panel, part of the section Comparative Perspectives on the New Politics of Dissent invites papers discussing the role of social media in recent popular protests in the Arab World, in Europe, in the US, and beyond, and approaching the issue from both a strategic and identity perspective.

Below you find the instructions on how to upload your abstract to the ECPR system for consideration.

1) Log in to MyECPR to submit your proposal.
The online submission system is now available. You will find it in here:

2) Look for the right section name Comparative Perspectives on the New Politics of Dissent and for the right panel title The Social Mediation of Popular Protest. Facebook and Twitter in Pro-Democracy and Anti-Austerity Mobilisations
You do not need to be from an ECPR member institution to create a MyECPR account and submit a paper.
3) Proposal should include title of the proposed paper, abstract of paper (up to 300 words), author’s name and affiliation.
The deadline for proposals is 1 February 2013
